Here’s a look at what’s going on this November in South Eastern Ontario

As the days get shorter and the weather gets colder, we can all use an excuse to celebrate. Luckily, in South Eastern Ontario, there’s always something to do. Here are our top festivals and events happening in November.

The holiday festivities are just getting started and we have a whole blog dedicated to it!

The festival will feature a variety of Canadian artists at numerous rural venues, including several awe-inspiring acts, such as Hawksley Workman, Skydiggers; Còig and The Devin Cuddy Band.

Check out live music happening and special events at The Cove. Featuring Young Petty Stones, Spencer Mackenzie, a murder mystery event, and a 5-course wine dinner.

When: November 12th

This is an event you can really get involved in. Join locals in North Grenville leading up to the TWILUX Lantern Parade to learn how to make small or large lanterns, creative costumes or even join in on singing or playing an instrument! When the big day arrives parade-goers will join together as they walk along the streets of Oxford Mills surrounded by music, performers and dozens of beautiful handmade lanterns.

When: November 5th from 3:30PM to 5:30PM

Who doesn’t like to be a little judgy now and then? You can be the judge this November as you join friends to blind-taste some of Prince Edward County’s best wines versus other famous wines from regions all around the world. This not-for-profit event shares all its proceeds with local charities as well.

When: November 2nd – 22nd

This beloved Prince Edward County event is back! Countylicious is a three-week-long celebration of food and drink, featuring locally inspired prix fixe menus from 15 Prince Edward County restaurants.

When: November 4th & 5th

The Firelight Lantern Festival is known for its illuminated art installations! Lead artists Nella Casson, Krista Dalby, Chrissy Poitras, Tim Snyder and Kyle Topping will be responding to the year’s ‘The Enchanted Forest’ theme, including Crystal Palace with giant lantern puppets.

Both evenings will be filled with an array of performances from multiformat puppet masters Imagicario, shadow puppetry by Birdbone Theatre, plus Peterborough circus performers and festival favourites, Trellis Arts. DJ Ombudsman will be providing the beats to keep the dance floor moving, Isabella Hoops will be bringing some sparkle, and the Kaleidoscope food truck will be on-site to keep everyone fed.

When: November 11th to 13th

Immerse yourself into the beauty that is Prince Edward County this November by joining your best friends in a special weekend hosted by Closson Chase Vineyards and Rosehall Run Vineyards. First, check into your stunning room at the Huff Estates Inn, enjoy chef-prepared meals and finish your evening by enjoying incredible wines and listening to live country music.

8. Fireside Feast at Grange of Prince Edward

When: November 18th

Get cozy! This evening will be a casual, family-style dinner in front of The Grange’s 30-foot fieldstone fireplace. Chefs Matt DeMille and Keirra Reid have created a delicious holiday feast of wintery fare with a focus on seasonal and local.
