Start building memories with our list of family-friendly farms in South Eastern Ontario.

1. Burnbrae Farms

Love and kindness are a major theme you will find when visiting Burnbrae Farms. Burnbrae is family owned and operated and in its fifth generation of ownership, and works alongside Universities throughout Canada to continue to bring the health and goodness of eggs to everyone’s plate.

2. Tincap Berry Farm 

Get your taste buds ready for this family-inclusive farm in Brockville. Known for donating its strawberries to Brockville’s Island Breakfast each year, Tincap Berry Farm puts community first and offers fruits and vegetables to pick every Spring, Summer and Fall.

3. Hildebrand Farms

Find something exotic at Hildebrand Farms, also known as Green Orchards. With acres upon acres of organic fruits and vegetables such as pears, plums and cherries. If you like to pick your own fruit head down mid-july to August to grab up some sweet raspberries and blueberries!

4. Upper Canada Village

Catch a horse drawn wagon back to the 1800’s at this unique and traditional historic village. Milk some cows in the barn, ride a miniature train through the village, enjoy some ginger beer at the old tavern and walk alongside some baby calves as you explore this incredible blast from the past.
At this time, Upper Canada Village is closed for the season and will open up in the Spring.

Just Farms takes farming one step further by preparing and offering up delicious ready-to-eat goodies including jams, preserves and homemade pickles! Located in Alexandria, you can be sure to find them at any local farmers market offering samples to passersby!

5. Roots Down Organic Farm

Since 2005, owners Jeff & Sue Klug have been farming just north of Gananoque and winning the hearts of all who visit. With their fields having over 100 years of farming experience in their soils, it is no surprise that both food and critters call this beautiful farm their home. Check it out and bring home the best mix of organic produce around!

6. Garrett Family Farm

Fresh, natural and family-owned, you can bring the kids to enjoy a true farming experience at Garrett Family Farm. Find yourself some mouthwatering meats including hormone free beef, pork, chicken, turkey and eggs.

Honourable Mention: Bee Happy Honey

When you imagine a farm, you likely do not imagine a field full of beehives! Bee Happy Honey has been in business for over 20 years, and tends to over 200 beehives in the Gananoque/Kingston area. You can be sure to find a sweet treat you will enjoy as they offer products including liquid honey, cut comb, beeswax candles, hand cream and more!

7. Dahlia May Flower Farm

Become enchanted by the fragrant smells of the beautiful flowers this stunning farm is dedicated to blooming. Dahlia May is owned by an artist and horticulturist that brings ideas from around the world to her hometown and cultivates flowers of all varieties to offer to specialty shops and farmers’ markets in the Quinte area.

8. Wooler Dale Farm

Beginning in April and continuing into the winter, Wooler Farms specializes in growing seasonal crops including asparagus, strawberries, garlic and dried herbs. Organically grown and certified, you can be sure that you are purchasing chemical and pesticide-free veggies for your next family dinner.

9. Quinta do Conde 

Enjoy a unique farming experience where you can enjoy slow, Mediterranean-style dinners where the ingredients come from less than 100 meters from your table. Owners, Joaquim and Amor always impress their guests, with a summer camp that connects kids with agriculture, a farm stand and a pop-up sandwich shop in the summer.

10. Fronterra Farm Camp & Brewery

Make a weekend out of your next farm visit at Fronterra Farm Camp & Brewery. To make their farm unique and self-sufficient, they offer overnight stays in luxury tents suited up with kitchens and an ensuite bathroom – talk about paradise! Check out their organic heirloom permaculture gardens, try out fresh vegetables and heritage eggs and even join some culinary workshops to learn a new skill!

11. Cambell’s Orchard

One of the very few farms that are open year-round, from the humid summers to the chilling winters of South Eastern Ontario, Cambell’s produces fresh apples and produce, as well as all the delicious additions including ciders, baked goods and gifts. You can stop by to pick your own apples, or grab a friend to taste their Apple Falls Cider on Saturdays and Sundays!

12. Waupoos Petting Zoo

Get ready for an extremely adorable day when you attend Waupoo’s Petting Zoo! Meet some baby rabbits, goats, sheep and friendly potbelly pigs! You will be quacking and clucking as you roam the property among the free-roaming chickens and ducks and make friends with the baby chicks that follow!

13. Hagerman Farms

This farm is fueled by its love for its customers, and works to provide the best produce for every season. With a special love for Fall, you can stop by to enjoy their fresh picked veggie stand or shop for the perfect pumpkin to carve! You won’t be able to miss this beautiful red farm and its vast fields of seasonal vegetables.

14. The Blueberry Patch

Located in the village of Waupoos, The Blueberry Patch is owned by a fifth generation farmer, so you know they must be delicious! Pick daily from 8am to 5pm for blueberries, raspberries and apples depending on the season.

15. Topsy Farms

Do you love wooly sheep? So do we! Topsy Farms is a picturesque multi-generational farm that prides itself on their beautiful wool blankets sourced right at the farm from their herd of 600 sheep. Enjoy fresh produce while you enjoy lamb-related activities including shearing and spending time with sweet orphaned baby lambs (aww)!

16. Paul Ridge Berry Farm

With over 40 years of experience, the Paul family take tradition seriously by producing only the best produce including juicy strawberries, sweet snap peas and shining sunflowers. Drop by throughout the summer to pick your very own from their vast acreage.

17. Happy Tails Farm Sanctuary

Spend the day with some sweet rescued animals and learn about their unique personalities at one of Happy Tails Farm Sanctuary’s daily tours. With a focus on education for children as well as a passion to give back to the community, Happy Tails will make sure you’ve learned something new before the tour is over.

18. Fair Sun Farms

Be sure to call ahead if you are looking to travel down to Spencerville for a unique farm experience. Fair Sun Farms offers some great fresh produce and meats at their local farmers markets including beef, lamb, veggies and jams.

19. Gibbons Family Farm

Run by a powerhouse father-daughter duo, Gibbons Family Farm produces some of the best pure maple syrup you can find. Mixing the modern and traditional together, the Gibbons use 4500 taps in their sugar bush to create a variety of maple products including syrups, butter, jelly, candies and even mustard!

20. Wendy’s Country Market

Find some of your favourite fresh food from this rustic, old-fashioned country market built in a historic schoolhouse! Wendy’s offers local foods from all over South Eastern Ontario, allowing you to be more adventurous in your produce and meat selection! Stop by Furnace Falls Farm across the street and enjoy fully equipped luxury suites, farm fresh food, and unique workshops on food preparation, canning, and foraging.

21. Berry Homestead Farm 

If you are looking for a unique experience you should look no further then Berry Homestead Farm. This farm is more than just your average barn and stable, it specializes as a donkey farm, producing donkey milk and soaps, welcoming guests to bond with the resident donkeys providing therapeutic moments, as well as donkey hikes where you get some extra quality time with some precious donkeys!

22. Menson Farm 

Finishing off this list is a family farm classic, offering all your favourites: strawberries, raspberries, sweet corn and the favourites:  asparagus, beans, peas, potatoes, pumpkins and squash!

Honourable Mention: Stone Bridge Farm Sweet & Saucy Co

Known regionally as the proud producers of Beer Belly Jelly, a delectable addition to any meal, made from local craft beer from local breweries Gananoque Brewing Co and Kingstown Brewery.
